Feeling Overwhelmed? Here’s Your Permission Slip

It's totally okay if you feel like you're not doing enough, even when you actually are. Today we're diving into that nagging voice we all have that insists we should be doing more. It’s exhausting to carry the weight of expectations that tie our self-worth to our output. I’ve been there, juggling responsibilities and still hearing that inner critic saying, "That’s not enough." But here’s the thing: enough isn’t a finish line; it's a feeling, and it’s important to recognize when you’ve done your part. So, if you’re feeling that pressure today, I’m giving you permission to trust that what you’re doing is enough, and you don’t have to earn your worth.

I should be doing more.

There's more I could be contributing.

Speaker A:

I'm not working hard enough.

Even on days when you've shown up, even when you've done meaningful work, even when you're at capac Tenacity.

Speaker A:

It's exhausting, and it's often not based in reality.

Speaker A:

It's this old programming we have these expectations we've internalized that equate worth with output.

Speaker A:

I've felt this so many times.

Speaker A:

Recording an episode, editing, handling life, responsibilities, working and still hearing that voice.

Speaker A:

That's not enough, Matt.

Speaker A:

But here's what I've learned.

Speaker A:

Enough isn't a finish line.

Speaker A:

It's a feeling.

Speaker A:

And sometimes it takes practice to recognize when you've done enough.

Speaker A:

So if today you're wrestling with that nagging sense of not doing enough, even when you're giving what you can, that's okay.

Speaker A:

You're allowed to feel that, but you're also allowed to release it.

Speaker A:

So if you're up for it, tell yourself, I give myself permission to trust that what I'm doing is enough.

Speaker A:

Today I don't have to earn my worth.

Speaker A:

That's your permission slip, friend.

Speaker A:
