We live in a world that celebrates hustle – where being busy is often mistaken for being worthy. But what happens when your body, your mind, or your spirit asks you to slow down?

If your energy isn’t what it used to be, or if your to-do list feels more like pressure than purpose, that’s not failure.

It’s feedback.

This short reflection is a gentle reminder that rest counts. Presence counts. You don’t have to produce to prove your value. Sometimes, the bravest thing you can do is stop and breathe.

You’re allowed to be.

Hey, this is It's Okay If, bite-sized permission slips. I'm MacGillHooley and today's permission is, it's okay if you're not as productive as you used to be. Let's be honest, we live in this world that worships doing. Checking boxes, crushing goals, always producing something.

But what happens when your body, your heart, your life asks you to slow down? When the hustle just doesn't feel good anymore? When rest feels like rebellion? For a long time, I tied my worth to how many things I could check off a list. The busier I was, the more valuable I felt. But I learned sometimes the bravest thing I can do is stop. Rest.

Breathe and say no.

So, if your to-do list is shorter today, or if your energy just isn't what it used to be, that doesn't mean you're failing. It means you're listening. Listening to your body, your heart, your spirit. So what would it feel like today to let rest count as enough? To let being be enough. So if you're up for it, tell yourself, I give myself permission

to rest without guilt, to measure my days by presence, not productivity. That's your permission slip, friend. Tuck it in your pocket, and I'll see you next time.
